The strike started today:

“Subject: Faculty Strike

As anticipated yesterday, the Acadia University Faculty Association (AUFA) has chosen to take strike action. Your classes will be cancelled until the strike is over and Acadia professors will not be on the campus or answering telephone calls or e-mails. You will find picket lines at various entrances to the campus. We are assured that these lines will remain peaceful and nothing will be done to prevent people or vehicles from accessing the campus.

Please keep in mind that services such as the Library and Medical Centre are still available and all recreational programming will continue as planned. In addition, there will be new activities in which you might participate. Please check the Campus Programs’ web site for a listing of activities. We encourage you to take advantage of this time to continue with coursework by referring to your course outlines and completing any required reading, taking advantage of some of our personal development programs or participating in some recreational activities.

We are hopeful that AUFA will agree to return to negotiations very soon and will continue to keep you informed as new information becomes available.
