I’m the editor of the Libertarian society’s newsletter along with 3 friends. On Thursday night our first newsletter was sent out with a few minor setbacks. There is always the learning curve and there are a few things we have to do better next month when the next issue will be sent out. Thus is life but we are all very enthusiastic about it so...great times ahead!
On Thursday morning I attended my first MS Management class, in the University of Iceland, which was a lot of fun. My teacher, Árelía, is also teaching me in my MBA program. She is a great teacher with teaching enthusiasm that makes it impossible to fall asleep during class. Because I was attending the first class last week I’m more than a month behind. I hope I won’t have to buy the books but I found one of the three books we use in the library which I’ve started reading. It is Peter Drucker’s “Managing the next society” which is a very interesting reading.
On Thursday I also wrote my first test in the MBA program. An economics test which I finished in 15 minutes! It is pretty dull to write an economics test for beginners when you have an Economics degree!
I’ve been in touch with Sam, a Chinese friend who studied with me in Canada, a few times lately but we are working on some import-export business. We have found a lot of opportunities in exporting Chinese goods to Iceland but we have a few watches coming over soon but we are looking into many other products.
Talking to Sam, Audun, Dalia, Vik and all the other great people I met in Canada makes me realize how great life was there! MAN I miss Acadia!
This weekend I’m finishing an assignment which is due on Monday. I am researching a merger of two Icelandic firms which was very successful but I will hopefully wrap it up tomorrow.
I still havn´t sold our car though I’ve spent cash on a few ads in Frettabladid (a newspaper here in Iceland). Next week I will pursue a new strategy but the ad’s have not been very successful...few people have called...and we still have the car!
My brother is building a house in Asparhvarf which is very close to a big lake in Reykjavik. It’s in a beautiful spot but my dad and I went to help him yesterday but a part from that I didn’t do much. Today I saw a screening of the movie “Forgotten”. I’m not sure when they will start showing the movie but it is a great. I didn’t particularly like the ending though but the movie is cool. Tonight it is Operation chill-out...and I am out of words.
Until next time!
